De-Googled phones you can buy
Checked against the makers' own pages · Last reviewed October 15, 2026
These phones are sold with a version of Android that leaves out Google's apps, usually with microG, an open-source stand-in for Google Play Services, to keep ordinary apps working. A few also come in a version with Google: SHIFT ships the SHIFTphone 8 with Google services by default, and Murena sells it with /e/OS instead. The table lists every model we track, with its price, where it is sold and what replaces Google. [1][2][3][4][5]

Which systems they run
- /e/OS from the e Foundation, sold on Murena phones, "ships microG pre-installed and pre-configured" and includes the App Lounge store for Play Store and F-Droid apps. - iodéOS, based on LineageOS, preinstalls microG, Aurora Store, F-Droid and an ad and tracker blocker. - Volla OS runs on Volla's own phones, with optional microG and Aurora Store and F-Droid preinstalled. - Makers' own systems: Punkt's MC03 runs AphyOS, which Punkt says has no Google apps preinstalled in its secure environment, though you can add them through the Play Store in a separate "Wild Web" area. Unplugged says its UP Phone is not compatible with Google Mobile Services and installs all apps from its own App Center.
Some phones can also run CalyxOS or LineageOS, which you install yourself. For phones supported by GrapheneOS, see GrapheneOS phones. [1][2][3][4][6][7][8][9][10]
Buying one in the US
Availability depends on the seller. Murena runs a North American store for Canada, Puerto Rico and the United States. iodé says it sells phones with iodéOS preinstalled only in Europe and points buyers elsewhere to partners such as OpenMobile in the US, or to installing iodéOS yourself. Each phone page explains where that model is sold, whether it ships to the US and how it handles US networks. [11][12]
What to expect
Most Play Store apps work through microG, but not all. /e/OS, for example, says microG can pass only the Basic level of Google's Play Integrity check, so apps that require a certified phone, often banking apps, may refuse to run. Read what a de-Googled phone is and banking apps on a de-Googled phone before you buy. [2][13]
Questions people ask
Do de-Googled phones run WhatsApp and other Play Store apps?
Most microG-based systems let you install Play Store apps through a store such as App Lounge or Aurora Store, and their makers say most apps run. Apps that check for a Google-certified phone at the stricter Play Integrity levels can still refuse. [2][3][6][13]
