The Volla Phone Quintus is the slim flagship phone from Volla Systeme in Germany, sold with Volla OS (Android without Google) or Ubuntu Touch (Linux). As of Nov. 7, 2026 the Volla shop lists it at €719 with either system. Volla ships only within the EU, EFTA countries and the UK, and its published LTE band list leaves out bands 4, 12, 13, 66 and 71, so a US buyer has to import it and check carefully with a carrier. Where it is sold and how to get one

Volla sells the Quintus in its online shop. As of Nov. 7, 2026 it lists two new versions, Volla OS and Ubuntu Touch, at €719 each, and a refurbished Volla OS unit at €478.80 that is marked sold out ("Ausverkauft"). Volla says delivery takes 3 to 10 working days within Germany after payment.

The shop FAQ says Volla delivers "in all countries of the European Union, the EFTA countries and the United Kingdom." For Switzerland it recommends the forwarding service MeinEinkauf.ch. For other countries the FAQ points to Volla's Indiegogo campaigns and says to email hello@volla.online if your country is not listed; we found no current Indiegogo campaign for the Quintus.

A US buyer would need a delivery address in one of those countries, for example through a package-forwarding service. We found no US retailer or importer listing for the Quintus. Volla's repair partners cover Germany and the rest of the EU, Switzerland and Norway, and Volla says customers elsewhere can order spare parts from its customer service. [2][3]

Will it work in the US?

Check with your carrier before buying. Volla's spec page and the user manual list these bands:

The FAQ on the Quintus shop page gives a longer list for "the Volla Phone" (it adds LTE B9, B18, B19, B34, B42 and B43 and 5G n26 and n40); it matches the list Volla publishes for the Volla Phone Plinius. We use the Quintus spec page and manual.

Neither list includes LTE bands 4, 12, 13, 17, 66 or 71 or 5G bands n66 and n71. Compare the list with your carrier's bands in our US carrier bands guide. Volla makes no statement about US carrier certification or VoLTE (voice calls over LTE) on US networks.

The phone takes up to two nano-SIM cards (no eSIM is listed), and Volla says it is not tied to any carrier. [1][2][4]

Apps and Google

With Volla OS there are no Google apps or Google Play Services. Volla OS comes with two app stores: the Aurora Store for apps from the Google Play catalog and F-Droid for open-source apps. You can switch on microG, which Volla says makes many apps that need Google Play Services work. Volla says Volla OS 15 and newer pass only the first level of Google's Play Integrity check, which some apps use to look for Google-certified Android.

With Ubuntu Touch the phone runs Linux and Volla says it "is not compatible with Android"; apps come from Ubuntu Touch's own app store.

Volla OS has a multi-boot feature: in its Multi-Boot Manager you can install a second operating system, such as Ubuntu Touch, on the Quintus's internal storage. The manual says to keep at least 40 GB free if you want to reserve 30 GB for the second system. [1][2][3][4][5]

Software support

The Quintus shipped with Volla OS 14. On Sept. 20, 2025 Volla released Volla OS 15, based on Android 15, for the Quintus. Volla OS updates come through the built-in Updater app. We found no stated number of years of updates for the Quintus.

On the Ubuntu Touch side, the UBports device list says as of Nov. 7, 2026 that "The Volla Phone Quintus is not supported by the current Ubuntu Touch release." It offers only the older 20.04 (focal) release, and UBports says previous releases keep working but "won't get updates, new features and security fixes." Volla's shop still sells an Ubuntu Touch version. [2][3][6][7][8]

What's different

- Slim flagship: 8.75 mm thick and 204.6 g, with a 6.78-inch 120 Hz AMOLED screen and a glossy piano-finish back, per Volla. - Two systems: Volla OS or Ubuntu Touch from the factory, or both on one phone with Volla OS's multi-boot. - Locked bootloader: Volla says devices with Volla OS come with signed software, an OEM lock and a locked bootloader, and encrypted user data. - No memory card, no wireless charging: Volla's comparison table lists both as "no" for the Quintus, unlike the older Volla Phone X23. - Water resistance: the manual gives an IP54 rating, tested with a two-minute freshwater shower. - In the box: a transparent back shell, USB-C headset, USB-C cable and a USB-C to 3.5 mm audio adapter. [1][2][4][5]

Availability history

On Oct. 16, 2024 Volla wrote that it planned to start shipping the Quintus that month, beginning with the rewards for its Kickstarter backers, and that deliveries of pre-orders from its shop and Indiegogo were not expected until November 2024. As of Nov. 7, 2026 the Volla shop still sells it new. [2][6]

It has no Google apps. With Volla OS you can enable microG and install Play Store apps through the Aurora Store; Ubuntu Touch doesn't run Android apps. [2][5]

Is the Volla Phone Quintus water resistant?

Volla's manual gives it an IP54 rating, tested with a two-minute freshwater shower, and says it should not be exposed to water with great force. [4]
