China edition vs global edition

Xiaomi sells its flagships in China first, with a China edition of its software:

As of Oct. 15, 2026, the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are China launches; Xiaomi's global spec page we checked is for the Xiaomi 17. [1][3]

Where it is sold and how to get one

In China, Xiaomi sells the phones through its Xiaomi Store. On Oct. 15, 2026 the store listed the Xiaomi 18 Pro from ¥5,999 and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max from ¥6,999.

Outside China, third-party exporters list the China edition. For example, Giztop listed the Xiaomi 18 Pro "as low as $899.00" and in stock on Oct. 15, 2026. Giztop says it is a "Chinese edition", that "Xiaomi Hyper OS 4 only supports English and Chinese", and that it installs Google Mobile Service and the Play Store before shipping. Those are the seller's claims, not Xiaomi's. Giztop's shipping page lists DHL/UPS delivery to the United States in 5-7 days and says it may not know about customs duties in your country. We have not tested any seller.

Warranty: Xiaomi says "the after-sales services shall be limited to the country or region of the original purchase," unless law or Xiaomi says otherwise. A China-edition phone has no Xiaomi service in the US. [2][4][5][6]

Will it work in the US?

Xiaomi publishes the China model's bands. A band is a slice of radio spectrum; a phone only connects where it supports the bands a carrier uses. The Xiaomi 18 Pro lists LTE FDD bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28 and 66 and 5G bands including n2, n5, n12, n25, n41, n66 and n77.

- T-Mobile lists LTE bands 4, 5, 66, 12 and 71, and 5G bands n71, n2/n25 and n41. The 18 Pro has LTE 4, 5, 12 and 66 but not 71 (600 MHz), and 5G n2, n25 and n41 but not n71. - AT&T says devices that don't use its technology and frequency bands can't use its network. - Verizon says a BYOD phone must be unlocked and its hardware and software "must be compatible", which it checks by the phone's device ID.

Xiaomi's notes on HD voice (VoLTE, calling over LTE) are about Chinese carriers; it says nothing about US carriers. Check with your carrier before you buy. See our guide to phone bands and US carriers. [1][7][8][9]

Apps and Google

HyperOS is built on Android, so Android apps install. Xiaomi's China spec page doesn't list Google services. Xiaomi's own China app store has a listing for the Google Play Store app; on Oct. 15, 2026 it was marked "维护中" (under maintenance), with a note that the Play Store depends on GMS and apps may crash during install without it. We found no Xiaomi page that says whether Google services can be switched on in the China edition of HyperOS, so check the specific phone before you rely on Google apps.

Without Google Play services, apps that depend on them (Google sign-in, Google push notifications, some banking apps) may not work; see our guides to China-edition phones and banking apps. [1][10]

Software support

The China edition ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 4. Xiaomi's China spec page doesn't state how many years of updates the 18 Pro gets. [1]

Questions people ask

Does the Xiaomi 18 Pro China version have Google?

Xiaomi's China spec page lists HyperOS 4 and China services such as Mi Pay, not Google. Xiaomi's China app store lists the Play Store app as under maintenance and notes it depends on GMS. The global Xiaomi 17 lists Google features. [1][3][10]

Is the Xiaomi 18 Pro sold outside China?

As of Oct. 15, 2026 Xiaomi sells it in its China store; Xiaomi's global spec pages we checked cover the Xiaomi 17. Xiaomi limits after-sales service to the country or region of purchase. [2][3][4]

Does the Xiaomi 18 Pro support T-Mobile band 71?

No. Xiaomi's band list includes LTE 12 and 5G n41 but not LTE band 71 or 5G n71, T-Mobile's 600 MHz bands. [1][7]
