Where it is sold and how to get one
Masstel is the phone brand of Masscom Vietnam, a Hanoi company registered in 2010. Masstel says it works with Vietnamese carriers and retailers such as Viettel, FPT, Thế Giới Di Động and Mobifone, and has 234 points of sale in Vietnam.
The Fami 8 4G product page on Masstel's own store lists it at 650,000 ₫ and in stock as of Oct. 15, 2026. Masstel's delivery policy offers free delivery anywhere in Vietnam and lists delivery times for Vietnamese cities and provinces only.
We found no Masstel seller or overseas store that ships the Fami 8 4G outside Vietnam. Buying one from abroad means using someone in Vietnam or a parcel-forwarding service; we have not tested any. [1][2][3]

Will it work in the US?
Probably not. A band is a slice of radio spectrum; a phone only connects where it supports the bands a carrier uses. Masstel lists these networks for the Fami 8 4G: GSM 900/1800 MHz, WCDMA 900/2100 MHz and 4G LTE bands 1, 3, 7, 8 and 20.
- T-Mobile lists its 4G LTE bands as 4, 5 and 66, plus 12 and 71 for extended range, and its 2G network on band 2 (1900 MHz). The Fami 8 has none of these. T-Mobile's network evolution page also says: "As of August 3, 2026, T-Mobile's 2G GSM network will be retired." - AT&T says a device must work on its 4G LTE network on "AWS, 700, 850, 1900MHz bands". The Fami 8's LTE list covers none of those.
Masstel says the phone works with every carrier in Vietnam (Viettel, MobiFone and VinaPhone). See phone bands and US carriers. [1][4][5][6]
Apps and Google
The Fami 8 4G is a basic phone. Masstel's spec table lists its operating system as "Không" (none), so there are no Google services and no app store. Built-in functions listed by Masstel are calls and texts, a calculator, a calendar with the lunar calendar, an alarm, games, a voice recorder, wireless FM radio, and music and video playback from a memory card. [1]
What's different
Masstel aims the Fami 8 at parents and older users. It has large printed keys, a big-font interface, a loud speaker, spoken key numbers, an emergency key and two bright LED flashlights with their own on/off key. The battery is removable, and the phone charges over USB-C.
Masstel lists a 12-month warranty for the phone and 6 months for accessories. [1]
