As of Oct. 15, 2026 the Google Store sells it unlocked from $599, and Google promises seven years of OS and security updates, to March 2033. Where to get one and how

Buy it unlocked and install a system yourself. The Google Store sells the Pixel 10a for $599 (128 GB) or $699 (256 GB) as of Oct. 15, 2026. The store also shows carrier deals, including Verizon and AT&T financing offers. Choose the Unlocked option instead: carrier versions can have bootloader unlocking turned off, which stops you from installing another system (see the next section).

Buy it with GrapheneOS preinstalled. Third-party sellers (no endorsement; GrapheneOS says it endorses none):

- Nitrokey (Germany) sells it as the NitroPhone 10a for 649.00 € and says it delivers worldwide with duties and taxes included (some countries get an individual quote). - PrivacyPortal (UK) lists it from £449.99 and ships to the US. Its phones are UK/EU models, and it warns that some carriers restrict VoLTE (calling over 4G) on imported Pixels by accepting only models sold in their own country.

GrapheneOS recommends installing it yourself, which it says is likely to be a lot cheaper. If you buy one preinstalled, GrapheneOS says to check the verified boot key hash and factory reset the phone before use. [1][4][9][10][11][12][13]

How to de-Google it yourself

A Pixel comes with Google's Android, with Gemini and other Google AI features built in. To use one without Google, you unlock its bootloader (the lock that lets the phone start only the maker's software) and install a different system yourself. GrapheneOS's guide, for example, asks for a USB cable and a computer (or another Android phone or tablet), and notes that unlocking the bootloader wipes all data on the phone.

Three systems list the Pixel 10a (codename stallion) on their own supported-device lists (checked Oct. 15, 2026):

The /e/OS and iodéOS lists don't include the Pixel 10a.

Buy an unlocked phone. CalyxOS says Pixels from Verizon can't install CalyxOS because Verizon prohibits bootloader unlocking, and GrapheneOS says phones sold through carriers may be locked in a way that prevents installing it, mainly with US carriers. [1][2][3][7][9][14][15][16][17][18]

Apps and Google

Which apps work depends on the system you install:

Whichever you choose, some banking apps may refuse to run: GrapheneOS calls banking apps a particularly problematic group for alternative systems. Google says Google Wallet tap-to-pay may not work on phones that run a custom ROM (a system other than the factory one) or have an unlocked bootloader. More in our guide to banking apps on a de-Googled phone. [14][15][17][19][20]

Will it work in the US?

The US model sold by the Google Store is unlocked, and Google says the unlocked version works with any major carrier. It has a nano SIM slot and eSIM. [4][7]

Software support

Google promises seven years of Android and security updates for Pixel 8 and later phones, counted from when each first went on sale on the US Google Store. GrapheneOS's table of Google's minimum support dates lists March 2033 for the Pixel 10a. A system you install yourself gets updates from its own project for as long as that project builds it for your model, so check its device page. [1][6]

If you choose GrapheneOS

GrapheneOS lists the Pixel 10a as officially supported and among the phones that meet the hardware requirements it sets for future devices, which include hardware memory tagging. It says its updates for a Pixel typically end shortly after Google's minimum support ends, and its current release as of Oct. 15, 2026 (2026100600) includes the Pixel 10a. GrapheneOS also adds its own features, such as Network and Sensors permission toggles, a USB-C port setting, auto-reboot and a duress PIN.

Existing eSIMs work on GrapheneOS, but adding a new one needs Google's eSIM component, which is off by default and can be turned on in Settings. [1][14][21][22]

Questions people ask

Which systems can replace Google's Android on the Pixel 10a?

As of Oct. 15, 2026, GrapheneOS, CalyxOS and LineageOS officially support the Pixel 10a. /e/OS and iodéOS don't list it. [1][2][3][16][18]

How much is the Pixel 10a?

$599 for 128 GB or $699 for 256 GB, unlocked, at the Google Store as of Oct. 15, 2026. [4]

Can I use a Verizon Pixel 10a?

Not with another system. CalyxOS says Verizon Pixels can't have their bootloader unlocked, and GrapheneOS says carrier versions may be locked the same way. Buy the unlocked version. [1][2][9]
