Where to get one now

Expect used or leftover stock from third-party sellers only. Pure Talk still listed it on Oct. 15, 2026, but out of stock.

For a current KaiOS flip on Verizon, see the TCL Flip 3 and TCL Flip Pro. [8]

Apps and Google

The 2780 Flip runs KaiOS 3.1, not Android, so it can't install Play Store apps. HMD's pages say you can "browse the Internet and download all your favorite apps," which come from the KaiStore.

HMD didn't list which Google apps come preinstalled. KaiOS's page for the phone lists the KaiStore, which KaiOS says "has over 700 apps, including Facebook, Google Maps, and the Google Assistant." KaiOS says Google Maps, Search and YouTube are available on KaiOS phones, but adds that "some features and availability vary by device." [1][9][10][11]

Will it work in the US?

HMD lists LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 25, 26, 66, 71 and 41, plus VoLTE HD Voice. VoLTE matters because US carriers shut down their 3G networks in 2022, and phones without it can lose calling. Verizon sold an unlocked version. HMD notes that VoLTE availability depends on your carrier and on HMD's support for that carrier, so check with your carrier. [1][4][5][12]

Questions people ask

Is the Nokia 2780 Flip still sold?

Not new from HMD or Verizon in the US as of Oct. 15, 2026: HMD's US page is gone and Verizon says the phone is no longer available. [2][4]

Does the Nokia 2780 Flip have Google Maps?

HMD didn't say which Google apps are preinstalled. It runs KaiOS 3.1, and KaiOS says its app store includes Google Maps. [5][10]

What battery does the Nokia 2780 Flip use?

A removable 1450 mAh battery. HMD quoted up to 18 days of standby time on 4G. [5]
