The iQOO 16 is a phone from iQOO, a vivo brand, on sale in China since September 2026 with OriginOS 7 developed on Android 17. iQOO's global site lists the iQOO 15, which runs OriginOS 6. vivo's suggested prices in China run from ¥5,999 (12 GB / 256 GB) to ¥8,499 (16 GB / 1 TB). The preinstalled app list on vivo's China spec page names vivo's own app store and Chinese apps such as Baidu Maps and Alipay, not Google apps, and vivo's international warranty list doesn't include any iQOO model. China edition vs global edition
iQOO is a vivo brand, and vivo uses the name OriginOS both in China and abroad, so the name alone doesn't tell you which edition you have:
| China edition | Global | |
|---|---|---|
| Model | iQOO 16 (model V2606A) | iQOO 15 (on iQOO's global site) |
| Operating system | OriginOS 7, developed on Android 17 | OriginOS 6, Android 16 |
The preinstalled app list on vivo's China spec page for the iQOO 16 names vivo's own app store (应用商店), vivo's browser and cloud service, and Chinese apps such as Baidu, Baidu Maps, Taobao, JD, Alipay, Meituan and Weibo. It lists no Google apps, and vivo notes that the list is for reference and the phone's actual apps prevail. GMS (Google Mobile Services) is Google's package of the Play Store, Google sign-in, Google Maps and push messaging. We found no vivo or iQOO page about using Google apps on the China edition.
As of Nov. 7, 2026, vivo's international warranty list covers only vivo X-series models, not the iQOO 16. [1][2][3]

Where it is sold and how to get one
In China, the iQOO 16 has a page on vivo's China site. vivo's spec page gives suggested prices of ¥5,999 (12/256), ¥6,799 (12/512), ¥7,499 (16/512) and ¥8,499 (16 GB / 1 TB), and a launch month of September 2026.
Outside China, third-party exporters list the China edition. For example, Giztop listed the iQOO 16 "as low as $889.00" and in stock on Nov. 7, 2026, and says it is a Chinese edition that supports a list of languages including English and comes with Google Mobile Service and the Google Play Store installed. Those are the seller's claims, not vivo's. Giztop's shipping page lists DHL/UPS delivery to the United States in 5-7 days and says it may not know about customs duties in your country. We have not tested any seller.
Warranty: vivo's International Warranty Service covers designated models at authorized service centers in the countries listed for each model. The list has vivo X-series phones only; no iQOO model is on it, and no US service is listed. [1][3][4][5][6]
Will it work in the US?
vivo publishes the China model's bands. A band is a slice of radio spectrum; a phone only connects where it supports the bands a carrier uses. The iQOO 16 lists LTE FDD bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 32 and 66 and 5G bands including n2, n5, n25, n41, n66 and n77.
- T-Mobile lists LTE bands 4, 5, 66, 12 and 71, and 5G bands n71, n2/n25 and n41. The iQOO 16 has LTE 4, 5 and 66 but not 12 or 71, and 5G n2, n25 and n41 but not n71. - AT&T says devices that don't use its technology and frequency bands can't use its network. - Verizon says a BYOD phone must be unlocked and its hardware and software "must be compatible", which it checks by the phone's device ID.
vivo's notes on VoLTE (calling over LTE) are about Chinese carriers; it says nothing about US carriers. Check with your carrier before you buy. See our guide to phone bands and US carriers. [1][7][8][9]
Apps and Google
OriginOS is developed on Android, so Android apps install. On the China edition, vivo's spec page lists vivo's own app store and game center and no Google apps; the listed maps app is Baidu Maps. Without Google Play services, apps that depend on them (Google sign-in, Google push notifications, some banking apps) may not work; see our guides to China-edition phones and banking apps. [1]
Software support
The China edition ships with OriginOS 7, developed on Android 17. vivo's China spec page doesn't state how many years of updates the iQOO 16 gets. Its product page claims "6 年持久流畅" (six years of lasting smoothness), and a footnote says this doesn't mean the phone never slows down; it is not an update promise. [1][4]
Questions people ask
Does the iQOO 16 China version have Google Play?
vivo's China spec page lists vivo's own app store and Chinese apps, not Google apps, and we found no vivo page on using Google apps on the China edition. See where to buy above for what third-party sellers say about their units. [1]
Is the iQOO 16 the same as the global iQOO 15?
No. The iQOO 16 is a China model with OriginOS 7 on Android 17; iQOO's global site lists the iQOO 15 with OriginOS 6. [1][2]
Does vivo's warranty cover a China iQOO 16 in the US?
No. vivo's international warranty list covers designated vivo X-series models in listed countries; no iQOO model is on it and the US isn't listed. [3]
