What the Gabb Phone 4 is

The Gabb Phone 4 is a touchscreen phone made for kids. Gabb's setup guide says the phone inside is a Nuu X6 Plus, and Gabb's spec list names its software "Gabb OS for Phones." Gabb sells it as "the safer phone for tweens" for ages 9-14.

Gabb says it has no internet browser, no app store and no social media. It does calls and texts, GPS location updates, a camera, Gabb Messenger (texting and app-to-app video calls with AI content filtering), Gabb Maps, Gabb Music and a spam blocker called Gabb Guard. [1][3]

Specifications

Price and monthly plans

Gabb's store listed the phone at $249.99 on Oct. 15, 2026. At checkout it adds a $30.00 activation fee and the first month of service. A Gabb plan is required.

Both plans include unlimited talk and text, Gabb Messenger, Gabb Guard, image and group texting and Gabb Music, according to the store page. Early termination fees are up to $100 (1-year) or $150 (2-year), and they go down month by month. Gabb's optional damage warranty is $4.99 a month. [2]

Apps and Google

There is no Google Play Store. The phone comes with about 15 preloaded apps (Gabb's pages say 15, 16 or 17), such as Camera, Photos, Calculator, Clock, Weather by Gabb and Gabb Messenger. Parents can add a short list of extra apps (for example Chess, Gospel Library, Greenlight, Sora) from the Gabb App Store in their Gabb account. The phone then loads them through the Gabb ID app over Wi-Fi.

Gabb's app guide says it never allows social media apps or browsers. It also won't add music apps like Spotify, because it has its own Gabb Music service. Gabb doesn't say whether any Google software runs in the background. [1][3][5]

Parental controls

Parents manage the phone from the MyGabb app and the Gabb Messenger Parent app. Contacts are child-managed by default; parents can switch to parent-managed contacts. Gabb flags or blocks messages it judges harmful and notifies the parent. Location updates come about every 15 minutes, and parents can set Safe Zones that send an alert when the child arrives or leaves. [1][3][6]

Where it is sold and how to get one

Gabb sells only in the United States. Its setup guide says "We offer service in the United States only," and Gabb has a form for people outside the US to ask for coverage. You can buy from Gabb's store, where the phone comes pre-activated. Gabb also names Amazon, Walmart and Target as online vendors; phones from those stores are activated at gabb.com/activate.

Stock (October 2026): Gabb's store page showed the Gabb Phone 4 as "Out of Stock" on Oct. 15, 2026. On June 30, 2026, Gabb's product team wrote on its forum that the Gabb Phone 4 Pro and the Gabb Phone 4 were both out of stock, with no timeline for new inventory. On Oct. 15, 2026, the Gabb Phone 4 was the only phone in Gabb's site menu. [1][2][3][7][8]

Will it work in the US?

Yes, but only on Gabb's own cellular service. Gabb says its devices "are made to be used with Gabb's network and cannot be used on other networks." Gabb describes its service as running on "America's fastest network" but doesn't name the carrier. The Gabb Phone 4 is a 4G phone. It can't make calls abroad, though Gabb Messenger works over Wi-Fi.
